Symposium E3. Advanced Steels
Organizers:
Prof. Jer-Ren Yang | National Taiwan University, Taiwan |
Scope:
Steel has the ability to adapt to changing requirements. This comes from the tremendous ways in which its structure can be influenced by processing and alloying. The advances in metallurgy allow novel steel designs, and newly-developed steels with striking mechanical properties (for the advantage of reduced energy consumption) are eagerly expected. This symposium focuses on the exchange of the latest scientific and technological progress on HSLA steels, Micro-alloying steels, offshore engineering steels, and high-alloying steels over the past decades, including IF steel, martensitic steel, bainitic steel, ferrite/pearlite steel, dual phase steel, TRIP aided steel, TWIP steel, ultra-fine grained steel, stainless steel etc. This platform attempts to strengthen cooperation between universities and research institutes, iron and steel production companies, and promote the further development.
Topics:
- Physical Metallurgy and Properties- Alloy Design , Recrystallization, Phase Transformation, Solution and Precipitation, Mechanical Properties, Mechanism of Strengthening, Plasticizing, Toughening
- Performance - Weldablity, Formability, Corrosion Resistance, Fracture Behavior, Fatigue Behavior, Wear Resistance, Fire Resistance, Reliability
- Products and Applications- Building Steel, Bridge Steel, Pipeline Steel, Vessel Steel, Automobile Steel, Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering Steel, Engineering Machinery Steel, Railway Steel
